The deep soil mixing process, originally developed to stabilise thixotropic clays in thick layers, has widespread to the remediation and waste treatment branches. This process has several benefits:

- Mobility – the machinery is attachable to conventional excavators and uses mobile tanks for binders; it can move to distant or difficult access locations
