As a member of ECOBA, the European coal ash association, Carmeuse participated at the ROMCEN conference in Bucharest. ROMCEN, held for the 3rd time, is an international event aiming at supporting coal combustion by-products reuse in construction and environmental remediation. This year it was organised by the Faculty of civil engineering in Bucharest, together with the Romanian ash association.
Carmeuse speakers presented two papers on the conference profile topics - Reuse of lime-stabilized ashes for construction and remediation and Stabilization of soils with ash containing blended binders. Our papers were followed with great interest by expert audience from academia, designers and regulators and contributed to enhance the awareness of stabilised ashes and ash-based binders as valuable solutions for construction, industry and environmental protection.
